What is Microblading?
Microblading is the process of inserting pigment into the basil layer of the epidermis. It is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing. The microblading artist creates hair strokes with a hand held disposable blade. Brow shape and color are customized for each client based on individual face anatomy, eye shape and color. The client has full control over the procedure, as brow shape and color are absolutely agreed upon before the procedure begins.
How long is the treatment and will each client need a touch up?
The treatment will take approximately 3 hours. This includes waxing, measuring, marking, numbing, and application. The Museum Spa recommends scheduling a 30 minute complimentary consultation prior to booking a full microblading session.
The first touch up, six weeks after the first session, is included in the initial cost. Each client is different. The pigment is semi-permanent and will fade over time. Additional touch ups are likely needed within 12-24 months.
Is it painful?
Topical numbing is applied throughout the treatment for the client’s comfort, however microblading may be momentarily uncomfortable for some.
What can be expected before and after treatment?
Prior to treatment we ask that you stop using retinol/A and take no blood thinners.
You will need to avoid excessive sweating and swimming for 7 days post-procedure. Healing time is approximately two weeks. Complete aftercare instructions will be provided at the consultation and post procedure.
